There don't appear to me any manpage sources for these functions in the
XFree86 distribution.

Closing since it is yet another wishlist about missing documentation in
Mesa. Mesa/GL doc is non-free and not even included upstream. So it is
not going to happen soon. I keep a couple bugs like this one open
against mesa-common-dev. No need keep any single ones against any mesa
packages :)
