Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.13-1
Mutt is crashing with a segfault every time I exit. The problem occurs
all the time. The procedure to cause the bug is to type 'mutt' to
start the mutt program, then type 'q' to terminate the mutt program.
Mutt segfaults.
I have tried removing all the mail manually, but mutt segfaults no
matter what's in the mail spool. Even empty mail spools cause
segfaults.
The exact text of the error message is:
Sorting mailbox...Segmentation fault
There are no symbols in mutt, but under gdb I get this much from the core dump:
(gdb) where
#0 0xb7ce1537 in puts () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6
#1 0xb7ce0286 in ftell () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6
#2 0x08081c42 in ?? ()
#3 0x08126d28 in ?? ()
#4 0x00000020 in ?? ()
#5 0x00000180 in ?? ()
#6 0xffffffff in ?? ()
#7 0x00000000 in ?? ()
This system is a laptop. Exim is set up for local mail delivery only.
The mail spool file appears normal in every way. The mail spool file
reads perfectly with the traditional unix 'mail' command. The unix
mail command exits normally.
The output of uname is:
Linux iron 2.6.16.27 #2 PREEMPT Wed Sep 13 17:12:04 CDT 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
The distribution I am using is a fully up-to-date Debian Testing with
no packages pinned or otherwise tampered with. In other words, a
typical Debian Testing installation.
I have noticed the error for a long time now, several months.

Hi,
thanks for the notice, I'm closing the mutt bug now.
