The mysqld_multi program (used to run multiple instances of a MySQL
server) is looking for the config at /etc/my.cnf whereas Debian uses
/etc/mysql/my.cnf.
mysqld_multi outputs no kind of warnings or errors - in fact, the only
way I found out was by running it through strace when I couldn't get it
working!
Lines 425-435 seem to be the interesting ones. Either changing them,
adding a warning that no config file could be found, or at least
documenting this problem would be nice. :)
Looks like it's the same with the 5.0 packages as well.
