Hello,
I'd noticed the "ElScreen" menu appearing on my emacs menubar, though I'd
not done anything to laod elscreen, myself.
so I checked /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50elscreen.el
and saw this, there:
(load "elscreen" "ElScreen" t)
While I'm sure elscreen may be fun, and I look forward to looking through
it, yet I wish that it would not be loaded every time when I start an emacs
without such as -vanilla
If you would possibly just comment-out the
(load "elscreen" "ElScreen" t)
in the elscreen emacsen-startup file, and allow the user to load it,
at-will, instead, then:
- you will be supporting a reasonable default of "let the user load
elscreen, but only when the user wants elscreen"
- it might even be a means for sort-of working around bug #267252 -
just don't load it in the first place, so the user will not be inspired to
try to unload it - as when the extra ElScreen menu, and the extra elscreen
features, are not currently wanted
