Package: passwd
Severity: grave

I'm not sure if passwd is the correct package to report that bug, but I've
two systems, one running potato and the other running a recently woody
(dist-upgrade). Both machines are weekly updated, but the expiration
parameter "-i" don't work right with the woody machine.

When I type (as example) "passwd -x 10 -w 9 -i testuser" on the
potato machine, it work's fine and in the newt day the system
sent alerts about the expiration and prompt to give a new password.

Trying the same command in the woody machine, the account is
expirated immediatelly!

Please help, when I try to run a "userdel -r user" and
remove all entries from /etc/shadow, /etc/shadow- and
even /var/backup/shadow.bak, when I create the same user
again It's expiration settings are restored!
