Package: evolution
Version: 1.4.5-3
Severity: normal
My palm pilot database apparently had some bad data on it, which
evolution cheerfully accepted. My evolution/local/Calendar.ics file
now has:
BEGIN:VEVENT
UID:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
DTSTAMP:20040121T022706Z
LAST-MODIFIED:20040121T022804Z
SUMMARY:hem and they leave? How about what if don't and they stay?
DTSTART;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/Montreal:
19700312T164400
DTEND;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/Montreal:
19700312T025600
CLASS:PUBLIC
SEQUENCE:1
BEGIN:VALARM
X-EVOLUTION-ALARM-UID:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
TRIGGER;VALUE=DURATION;RELATED=START:-PT0S
ACTION:DISPLAY
DESCRIPTION:hem and they leave? How about what if don't and they stay?
END:VALARM
END:VEVENT
You'll notice that the DTEND has a time *before* the DTSTART field.
When I go to March 12, 1970, the "go to" box shows the date in bold,
confirming that the record is there, but the day view doesn't display
anything.
There are a few things here that should probably happen:
1) The conduit should not trust all data coming from the Palm Pilot,
and should probably silently discard nonsense records.
2) If the calendar view hits a nonsense record, it should adjust the
end time to be some minimum amount after the start time, so that the
record can be viewed/modifyed/deleted.
3) If it notices a record like this, a popup or something should
probably appear recommending that a database repair tool be run.
I've taken a backup of my calendar.ics file if you need it. I also
have a backup of the various palm databases in case you need me to
test fixes to this.
Tks,
Jeff Bailey
