Package: parted
Version: 1.6.6-8
Severity: normal

As a side effect I guess, it is impossible to cancel entering parted
when this problem is detected. strace |grep proc yields not even a try
to find these files. Also, /proc/partitions is not consulted when the
drive device is given, whereas when parted is run with no options,
strace shows it being opened.

$ sudo parted /dev/hde
Warning: Unable to determine if partitions are mounted via /proc/mounts
or /etc/mtab. Make sure you don'tattempt to resize or modify mounted
file systems.  (Even read-only mounted)

Hi,

This bugreport is more than 3years old.
It seems that this is fixed with the new parted version.
So I close it.
