Since a few weeks, I can't display directories contents by typing :e.
It's displayed at the bottom of the screen:
"." is a directory
... but the directory contents does not appear.

I'm closing this since we've seen no response from the submitter after
your previous email and I've never known ":e" to act as ":browse e".
Even ":e ." should've opened netrw's directory browser.
