Package: pidgin
Version: 2.0.1-1

After apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
Try to install pidgin with apt-get install pidgin
You get:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
 pidgin: Depends: pidgin-data (< 2.0.1-z) but 2.0.2-1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

I installed it manually after 'apt-get install pidgin-data' I used
dpkg --force-all -i pidgin_2.0.1-1_i386.deb
