When I run strobe to check for listening ports on hosts on my local
LAN, it fails to detect all of them. Interestingly, if I run it
under strace (strace -o /tmp/foo strobe ...), it seems to work most
of the time. I don't understand why, so I can't offer any suggestions
for a fix. Here's an example transcript showing an obvious failure:
drink:~$ strobe -d dark.beer.net
strobe 1.05 (c) 1995-1999 Julian Assange <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
dark.beer.net 21 ftp
-> 220 dark.beer.net FTP server (Version 6.00) ready.\r\n
dark.beer.net 22 ssh # SSH Remote Login Protocol
-> SSH-2.0-2.0.13 (non-commercial)\r\n
dark.beer.net 53 domain nameserver # name-domain server
drink:~$ telnet dark.beer.net

telnet> quit

Right. That's why I try to clean up a little bit. :-)

Ok, will do. If you find the problem again feel free to reopen. I
haven't been able to reproduce it either so far.
