Package: git-svn
Version: 1:1.5.2,3
Severity: important
git-svn is confused when tags/branches have (non exhaustive list) : or
~ in their name, which is a common thing in svn repositories from
svn.debian.org where tags and branches have the name of the debian
version (: is used for epochs, and ~ also is often used due to its
specific meaning).
Sadly, it seems git-svn gets completely confused. I guess it should
avoid using those chars in the locals references it creates, and rather
replace them with e.g. _.

This should be fixed in version 1.5.3~rc4:
commit bf655fd7009bf5b8f493c52ca77c0d9e09dcb762

git-svn: Translate invalid characters in refname
In git some characters are invalid as documented
in git-check-ref-format. In subversion these characters might
be valid, so a translation is required.
This patch does this translation by url escaping characters, that
are not allowed.
