Today I noticed that neither "bzr help commands" nor the manpage of bzr mention
the "bundle-revisions" command even though it exists and can be used.

Hello Mathias. What you describe is true: while `bzr bundle` exists and
`bzr help bundle` will provide help for the command, it is not included
in command listsings because it is a "hidden" command.
In this case, it is hidden because it's been superseded by the `send`
command, and upstream authors want new users to use `bzr send` instead
of `bzr bundle-revisions`. However, in order not to break compatibility
on existing users, the command is kept, albeit hidden.
Hope that explains things for you. I'm closing this report.
Cheers,
