Version: 2.6.3-2
Severity: normal
If I try to define the mime type for the new type of file (in this case
for canon raw image photos - .crw extension - but this does not work
for other types as well) it does not work, and in quite strange way.
The properties dialog shows application/octet-stream since this is
a binary file. If I try to associate the app with the file I'll get
properly filled in dialog with application/x-crw type assigned and
CRW extension defined, then I define an application to open it and close
the dialog. The properties dialog still shows application/octet-stream
no amount of restarting or other voo-doo will change that. But, If I try
to open the file and click on it I'll get "associate app" dialog again
but this time with information I've just entered in place - so it was
properly saved, and even the type of the file has been recognized
properly - just not by the nautilus itself. Of course it does not
thumbnail the file - since it does not see the proper mime-type it does
not call the thumbnailer (it was working with nautilus 2.4).
