Package: kaffe
Version: 2:1.1.4.RC1-1
Severity: normal

It seems the appletviewer program included in kaffe currently doesn't work.

For simple demonstration, I pulled some example applet from the web, e.g.,
<http://java.sun.com/applets/jdk/1.2/demo/applets/Clock/example1.html>.
Compile (with kaffe), put the example HTML snippet in a file foo.html, call

appletviewer foo.html

results in

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: kaffe.applet.AppletViewer
   at java.lang.Class.forName (Class.java)
   at java.lang.Class.forName (Class.java:44)

This happens for all applets that I have tried. The Sun JDK's appletviewer
program can display the applets correctly.

Thanks for your report, appletviewer has already been removed from the
kaffe package (>=3D 2:1.1.5). We'll try to provide one when it'll work
again.
