Package: menu-xdg
Version: 0.2.3
Severity: normal

Hi,

On my laptop I use GNOME 2.18. I have just installed e17 from :
deb http://edevelop.org/debian sid main contrib non-free

Under GNOME I don't have any problem with the menus. But under e17 I must set
the XDG_CONFIG_HOME variable to "$HOME/.config" in order to have applications
menu.

Which path is set normally in this variable ?

Why is this variable not set to "$HOME/.config" ?

Thx for your great work!
Regards,
Guillaume

Hello Giggz,

This is a lack of Debian menu support in e17 then: the debian menu is in
/var/lib/menu-xdg/menus/debian-menu.menu. It should be merged in the
main e17 menu file.

This variable is not defined by default.

Because the window manager must use $HOME/.config when it is not
defined.

Since this is actually a bug in e17 and I cannot reassign this report to
e17, I close it.

Thanks for using Debian!

Cheers,
