Try to start gv, viewing some file with international resource
set:
gv -xrm "*international: True" /usr/share/doc/gv/gv.ps.gz
Ideally this should cause gv, like all Xaw-based applications,
to use *FontSet resources instead of *Font for choosing fonts for
drawing interface and apparently to deal with internationalised
versions of X11 text-drawing facilities.
In much aspects this is done, some fonts are changed as expected
(I think, by the underlying Xaw3d package), but some widgets,
written specially for gv, works not so good.
When i'm opening "State -> Setup Options ..." menu, i'm always
getting segfaults. When trying to open many other menus (File ->
Open, State -> File selection options ...) second time, i'm also
getting segfaults. Also, pressing on any file name in File->Open
dialog causes segfaults.
List widgets didn't get drawn correctly: it appears like some
part of it uses other fonts for drawing and calculating sizes. In
particular, Table of contents in the document show "1" drawn
twice at the beginning and fills with visual artifacts when i'm
trying to move mouse over it.
Note, that it is possible, that this artefacts will not be
available if you have similar X11 fonts used in both cases. As i
have checked, this shouldn't happen in the default case, i.e.
when a user does not have personal app-defaults directory(ies),
does not have ~/.XDefaults, and cleared server resources via
`echo |xrdb'
and launched gv with "C" locale.
