It would be useful for 'killall' (or some other utility) to automate sending a
signal to a given process and all of its children, and their children, and so
on.

Hello,
Your wishlist bug asked if killall or another program could kill a
process and all its children. I believe /bin/kill with a negative PID
will do just that.
