Today I can't use reportbug without specifying --no-check-available:
reportbug hangs while querying packages.debian.org, or so it claims.
Odd, since I can get there in my web browser without a problem.
strace reveals that reportbug is actually hanging while trying to
connect to incoming.debian.org.

Sam,
with mode > standard (i.e. advanced and expert), reportbug checks for
newer packages even in incoming and new queues apart from on p.d.o. And
both incoming.d.o and ftp-master.d.o are hosted on ries.d.o which is
down [1] because of hardware problems right now.
Consider this a feature for the advanced/expert users :)
