I've tested with amarok 1.4.8 and the problem seems no longer to be there
(tested with both FLAC and mp3). Just please note that crossfading (if you
have it enabled) will lower the volume at end of track. This bug might be
related to upstream http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135190
If you still can reproduce the problem, reopen this bug. I'm closing it now.
