Package: amarok
Version: 1.4.4-2
Severity: important

I have never used Amarok before, so when I launch it, it shows the
configuration guide. Even if I do absolutely nothing, and just leave
it on the first page, it crashes after around minute. This is
reproducible every time on my system.

What you were experiencing here was amarok crashing and trying to start kmail
to attach & send a backtrace. It failed because kmail was missing and you
were left without backtrace to report.

> We started amarok a third time and this time skipped the wizard.
> Then we configured the collection and continued setting up our

It worked because you skipped first-run wizard which was the one bringing
amarok down. However, I guess you were hit by
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136736

I've tested 1.4.8 and can confirm that First-Run Wizard no longer crashes on
its own (whereas in 1.4.4 it did just that if it was left running for ~2
minutes). Amarok bug #136736 was fixed in 1.4.5
