The french man memmove says :
"La fonction memove() copie n octets depuis la zone mémoire src vers la
zone mémoire dest. Les deux zones peuvent se chevaucher : la zone
mémoire débutant en src est premièrement copiée dans un tableau
temporaire qui ne chevauche pas src ou dest puis le tableau temporaire
est copié vers dest."
This is a wrong translation, the english version says "as though", that
is "comme si".
Data are not really copied, instead it has a really performant
implementation for moving data around.
I think the following translation would be better :
"La fonction memmove() copie n octets de la zone mémoire src vers la
zone mémoire dest. Les deux zones sont autorisés à se chevaucher : la
copie est faite comme si la zone mémoire débutant en src était copie
vers une zone temporaire ne chevauchant ni src ni dest puis cette zone
serait recopiée vers dest. Mais ceci d'une manière vraiment efficace."
