Package: gnunet-gtk
Version: 0.7.0e-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

After doing "apt-get install gnunet-gtk", I try to launch GNUnet from the Xfce GUI menu. But nothing happens. It looks like the program does not work at all. No error message, no anything.

An attempt to launch gnunet-gtk from a terminal produces the following output:
---
$ gnunet-gtk
Configuration file `/home/rm/.gnunet/gnunet.conf' not found. Run gnunet-setup! Configuration file `/home/rm/.gnunet/gnunet.conf' not found. Run gnunet-setup!
Aborted (core dumped)
---

In my opinion, the program should not silently fail when launched from GUI. Perhaps, a GUI error message should be displayed. Or better, the first attempt to launch gnunet-gtk would result in gnunet-setup launching instead, automatically (and after it, the actual program).

Also, it should not produce a coredump merely because some configuration file is not present.

Hi,

although you're using testing/sid, you're running a very old version of gnunet. The problem you've reported doesn't occure at least with 0.7.2, hence closing.

Regards,
Daniel
