gv will allow you to change various settings and save them, but will
not honor the saved settings (from ~/.gv) when the program is next
invoked.

This problem affects 3.6.2-3 running on etch systems and does not
occur with 3.6.1-10sarge2 running on sarge systems.

Relevant packages:
ii gv 3.6.2-3 PostScript and PDF viewer for X
ii gs-gpl 8.54.dfsg.1-5 The GPL Ghostscript PostScript interpreter

I'm closing this bug, because I believe this is bug 423467 which was fixed
in revision 3.6.2-4, i.e. the first after etch.

To work around this bug, you can put the contents of the saved setting
in the ~/.gv file into your ~/.Xresources file (then they are available
after the next graphical login) or load them manually with xrdb -merge ~/.gv
(then they are available until the X server terminates).

If the bug is still present in any newer version (like lenny or
unstable), please let me know so I can reopen this bug.

Hochachtungsvoll,
        Bernhard R. Link
