Package: azureus
Version: (2.3.0.0-2) [contrib]

The unstable version does not seem to start at all. I have Sun's Java
1.5.0_03 installed. I used to have an earlier version of azureus
installed, which I have uninstalled since it wasn't upgradidng properly.
I removed the unstable & installed testing (2.2.0.2-1) which works just
fine--as long as I don't let it internally upgrade.

I am using SimplyMEPIS 3.3, Debian GNU/Linux 2.6.x, kernel.

I don't think so. These commands would give you more information on
the Java alternatives configuration though:

$ /usr/sbin/update-alternatives --list java
$ /usr/sbin/update-alternatives --display java
# /usr/sbin/update-alternatives --auto java
