package: samba
version: 2.999+3.0.alpha23-4
severity: important
The passdb backend = ldapsam.
After upgrading from 2.999+3.0.alpha21-5 the smbgroupedit -l command did
not produce the 'default' groups anymore.
This makes it impossible to map the admin group.
# smbgroupedit -u g1 -c S-1-5-32-544
This SID does not exist in the database
There is some code in source/groupdb/mapping.c which seems to create the
'Wellknown groups' but i see no way to activate this code.

>From the bug log, it is obvious that this bug report is an upgrade
issue for upgrades from old (REALLY old) versions of unstable/testing
and is even no more reproducible now.
So, I really see no point in keeping it opened so that "In this case
it can show others that the problem still exists". No one will never
have this problem now, I would bet.
