I've attached a full backtrace (c/o gdb), and everything top is running
(batch mode) showing 100% cpu usage. I'm using xinerama on an nvidia gf
8600gt.
Might be too much noise, but I think it's relavant:
In the last few days I removed all debian nvidia packages, and
installed the nvidia .run driver (see #457006) per the
nvidia-kernel-source bug reportting (they said the debian one is not
supported in favor of the current one)

I close this bug now. As said before the upstream author and
I have the opinion that you have an old X server
running around that didn't cleanly exit.
Looking at the process numbers shows that the openbox
process using 100% cpu was started before the one which does
not (as well as the defunct other applications). The openbox
currently running does not take your CPU. So this looks like
a bug but not like an openbox bug. Please try a backport for
a more recent version of openbox if you really think this is
an openbox bug.
