Hi,
i configured mail-notification so that my email program is launched when I
click on its icon. If I do that I get the error message, that no mail reader is
configured. But that is wrong. I configured mutt as my mail client in System >
Preferences > Preferred Applications as the error message tells me. This affect
does not change if I change the mailer to another application.

Hi,
since a re-installation of my system due do a new harddisk the problem
did not occur. Therefore I think the problem was caused by the
filesystem corruption on my system and can be ignored.
