Package: ntp
Version: 1:4.1.0-8
Severity: wishlist
I usualy use the local clock (RTC) as a fallback synchronization source.
This source is quite always available on all computers, but should only use
by ntpd if this clock is not modified by hands and set to UTC. (under GNU/Linux,
kernel should also be built with /dev/rtc support.
example ntp.conf:
# local clock (cmos,rtc)
server 127.127.1.0
fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 4 # set it to a stratum that won't intefere with real
sources
So, could the local clock driver be integrated in ntp-simple,
and be enabled (also in ntp-refclock) if user request it.
