Package: apt-proxy
Version: 1.9.28
Severity: normal
In my /etc/apt-proxy/apt-proxy-v2.conf I have:
;; Maximum number of versions of a .deb to keep per distribution
max_versions = 1
but apt-proxy keeps many verions of one package in the cache anyway.
For example:
szrenica:/var/cache/apt-proxy/debian/pool/main/v/vim# ls -al
total 16168
drwx------ 2 aptproxy nogroup 4096 2005-04-04 00:30 .
drwx------ 7 aptproxy nogroup 72 2005-03-31 20:52 ..

-rw------- 1 aptproxy nogroup 706604 2005-04-02 20:17 vim_6.3-068+4_i386.deb
-rw------- 1 aptproxy nogroup 3425692 2005-03-26 17:47
vim-common_6.3-068+1_all.deb
-rw------- 1 aptproxy nogroup 3425818 2005-03-28 20:47
vim-common_6.3-068+2_all.deb
-rw------- 1 aptproxy nogroup 3425844 2005-03-29 02:17
vim-common_6.3-068+3_all.deb
-rw------- 1 aptproxy nogroup 3424972 2005-04-02 20:17
vim-common_6.3-068+4_all.deb
szrenica:/var/cache/apt-proxy/debian/pool/main/v/vim#
I think it never deletes old versions.
Anyway, apt-proxy has so many bugs, and it doesn't look like their
number is going to be reduced in any near future, and today approx
appeared in the debian repository. It is a replacement for apt-proxy.
Maybe it will be less buggy, and maybe faster too. It is a compiled
executable I think, and not a interpreted script like apt-proxy so it
should be faster, apt-proxy was slow.
