Package: exaile
Version: 0.2.10+debian-1.1
Severity: important

When running exaile, I get gravelly bass. The same problem does not occur with totem-gstreamer. While this problem is most noticable on acoustic songs, it occurs on all songs, in both MP3 and Ogg format.

This problem is more noticable if the equalizer is set to rock, but it also occurs with the equalizer disabled. The bug occurs with music on the local machine as well as music streamed over the local network using DAAP.

Both with totem and exaile, the gstreamer sink is the pulseaudio one, and both programs are using the native Pulseaudio protocol. In other words, I have no clue what is causing the discrepancy in sound quality between totem and exaile; I have accounted for all factors I considered.

I first noticed this problem today.

This is severity important because a music player that does not produce high-quality output is not very useful.

--- Begin Message --- My problem with the gravelly bass seems to have been fixed with the latest upload of gstreamer to unstable, which makes sense, since the bug first seemed to appear after a gstreamer upgrade. Therefore, I am closing the bug.
