We're adding support to the debian installer to find other OSes, and set
up grub to boot them. Lots of users seem to want this for some reason. ;-)
As part of doing this, we need to add the entries to menu.lst, and that
mean we need to map between the linux partition name and grub's
representation.
There is a nice peice of code to do just that in update-grub, in the
convert function, but there's no good way to get at that function. Could
you please break it out into a separate file -- either a standalone
utility, or just a file somewhere we can source and then call the
function would be ok. In the meantime, we've copied the function into
grub-installer.

Closes: 241972
Changes:
grub2 (1.96+20080228-1) unstable; urgency=low
.
* New CVS snapshot.
* Split grub-probe into grub-common package. Make all flavours depend on it.
(Closes: #241972)
* Suggest multiboot-doc.
* patches/01_grub_legacy_0_based_partitions.diff: New patch. Add a hack that
tells grub-probe you want 0-based partition count
(GRUB_LEGACY_0_BASED_PARTITIONS variable)
* Stop depending on lsb-release (too heavy! we don't need python in base).
Instead of assuming it's there, try calling it and otherwise just echo
Debian.
