Burning CDs and 4.7Gb DVDs works out just fine, but when I try to burn
double layer DVD
system freezes completely. System does not react to keyboard or mouse,
I cannot even ssh
to system from foreign host. However desktop view is updated every 15
seconds. Tried it two times with same result.
After 25 minutes waiting, I get a message "write failed" and system
returns to fully
usable state.
I attached log files.

One thing you could look for is a firmware update for your drive. Mine was
causing crashes and other problems until I upgraded its buggy firmware.
Check the manufacturer's site.
