Just a quick heads up from upstream !
The current version of hercules upstream is 3.05 (since June 24th 2007).
It would be nice if the debian package could be updated accordingly.
Furthermore, I think most (if not all) debian reported bugs over
hercules have been fixed in 3.05.
There are however a couple of small known outstanding bug in upstream 3.05
3390 devices will default to a control unit type of 3990-6. However, we
found out soon after release that the 3990-6 implementation is lacking a
critical component (locate record extended CCW support), therefore it is
probably necessary to revert this to 3990-3 :
