Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.5-2
Severity: wishlist

It would be useful if xmms had a switch which acted like the standard
-name switch supported by many X programs, so that it could access and
save its settings differently for different purposes.

I run xmms on several different machines using the same (NFS-accessed)
$HOME. This is inconvenient because, eg, xmms saves window positions
which aren't useful on some of the machines. Plus, it'd be very useful
for me to be able to have the different machines save different playlists.
I'd like to be able to run it like "xmms -name xmms-`hostname`".

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461309 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
