xmms has a "add URL" option, but it does not work for ".m3u" URLs
served from a streaming server. Clicking on the URL in a browser works,
and xmms plays it if its correctly configured to handle it. But one
cannot copy-paste the URL to an already running instance of xmms.

As a work around, dropping the last ".m3u" from the URL works, since it
now exposes the ".mp3" extension. But this works only for individual
songs ... it does not work with the typical "all.m3u" link provided by
the streaming server. Again, clicking on the link works, but that
replaces all the songs in the current playlist.

Tried this with an edna installation on the local network.

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461309 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
