Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.7-3

It would be nice if Debian's xmms package would integrate the songpos patch,
as recommended in README.songpos of the xmms-sid package. The patch is
available in the /usr/share/doc/xmms-sid/ when xmms-sid package is installed.

Here's an excerpt from README.songpos:

The XMMS-SID plugin will work much better if you install the song
position patch ("xmms-songpos.patch*") which makes it possible for
the plugin to use the position slider to choose subtunes.

It also patches some other plugins (like MikMod plugin) for
improved features. Additionally, the patch for XMMS 1.2.5
has a dirty hack fix

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461309 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
