I usually listen my mp3s via a shared samba directory from another PC in
my home network. When the sharing PC suddenly goes offline, e.g. due to
a hang up or another bug which causes it's reboot, xmms freezes. As xmms
does not react to any operations, I only can kill it.
When I restart xmms again immediately and make it play the last playlist
again (including only remote mp3s), it freezes again, even if the
'server' has started again.
Maybe, this is because of a bug from samba -- a 'ls' or any other
operations on the mounted directories do not work either, but
I suppose this is only because the samba connection has not been
reestablished already. I do not know.
Anyways, xmms should not freeze up because of a
missing data source.

The xmms package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
