Package: xmms-mad
Version: 0.5.5-1
Severity: normal

When using xmms-mad plugin to play certain MP3 files, the first 1-2
seconds of the music is chopped. Playback is normal when using either
the libmpg123 plugin or mplayer (using mad plugin as well). Only a small
number of mp3 files are affected.

I tried to run xmms from xterm. When playing the file with xmms-mad, a
message is displayed in xterm:

Message: output format: 5

I've no idea when it means.

However, when playing the same file using libmpg123 plugin, the
message is slightly different:

Message: output format: 7

The xmms-mad package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/456709 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
