Package: dpatch
Version: 2.0.10
Severity: wishlist
It is becoming more and more common to have only the debian
subdirectory under version control, using dpatch to automatically add
patches to the pristine upstream sources. dpatch has made this
possible, it's great.
However, there is currently no support for this in dpatch-edit-patch.
Together with the change suggested in #288282, this could be accomplished
by the following pseudocode:
- Find out location of .orig.tar.gz (by querying the environment, the
local config file or .svn/deb-layout)
- Unpack .orit.tar.gz to tmpdir1
- Copy current directory to tmpdir1
- Copy tmpdir1 to tmpdir2
- Invoke shell in tmpdir2
- Let User make her changes
- diff tmpdir1 and tmpdir2, creating patch
I can supply a patch if the maintainers indicate that this patch would
have a chance for inclusion in dpatch.
Greetings
Marc
