Package: pydict
version: 0.2.5.1-2
severity: important

I just tried pydict and got the following error message with interactive mode:

Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/pydict-real", line 633, in ?
    console_e_dict(sys.argv[2])
  File "/usr/bin/pydict-real", line 506, in console_e_dict
command = g_command + " '^" + inp + "=.*$' " + dict_path + lower(word[0]) + '.lib'
UnboundLocalError: local variable 'word' referenced before assignment

With GUI mode pydict seems to be running but all Chinese characters are not properly displayed.

I'm usng unstable with zh_CN.GB2312 locale and have GB and BIG5 arphic files and conf package installed. I also installed zh-autoconvert.

The pydict package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/405895 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
