Package: nsis
Version: 2.19-3
Severity: normal
Building debian.exe (win32-loader ala d-i) on debian etch nsis causes
the output exe to generate an IPF on Windows 98.
I downloaded the upstream relase of nsis-2.19.zip, extracted NSISdl.dll,
and copied over the local installed copy in /usr/share/nsis/Plugins/.
terse details in windows:
DEBIAN-SVN45063 caused an invalid page fault in
module NSISDL.DLL at 0167:6ae47ce3.

drwatson text dump (231k)
Thanks!

Looks like it is fixed in recent versions of nsis. I tested it in
Windows 98 SE and I don't get any crash with debian.exe from
goodbye-microsoft.com. Also nyu says that it is known to work:
<pabs> did you ever figure out the issue with #412285?
<nyu> doesn't seem to happen at this time
<pabs> hmm, ok
<pabs> didn't you switch to wget or something?
<nyu> yes, but went back to nsisdl
<nyu> right now it works
<pabs> even on win98?
<pabs> I'll do a test to make sure and then close it
<nyu> yes, but if you test it that'd be good too
<nyu> the current build at goodbye-microsoft.com is known to work, I
think
<pabs> ok
<pabs> the GUI part of debian.exe on goodbye-microsoft.com works with
Win98 SE in qemu
<pabs> loadlin is taking its sweet time though
So, I'm closing this bug.
