Package: debconf
Version: 1.5.21
Severity: important

In the post-install for some packages it tries to move (mv) the conf file to an
all-uppercase
path/filename. that offcourse fails and the packages are left unconfigured....
See output below.

`/USR/SHARE/NFS-COMMON/CONFFILES/IDMAPD.CONF': No such file or$
mv: cannot move `/etc/idmapd.conf' to `/ETC/IDMAPD.CONF': No such file or
directory
dpkg: error processing nfs-common (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Setting up samba-common (1:3.0.28a-3) ...
mv: cannot move `/var/run/samba/upgrades/smb.conf' to
`/VAR/RUN/SAMBA/UPGRADES/SMB.CONF': No such file or directory
mv: cannot move `/etc/samba/smb.conf' to `/ETC/SAMBA/SMB.CONF': No such file or

Hi,

This is not a ucf-the-package bug. There was a script called ucf
installed on the local machine, which up-cased the file name.
