I suspect this problem is related to UTF-8 file names, but I am
maybe wrong. Anyway, gnupod tools seem to work perfectly.

The problem occurred for me after a firmware upgrade of my iPod nano.
Maybe this is the same problem. Please try the new version and
describe next time if you used another iPod tool in the meantime.
