About 0900 this morning the statistics for my ppp0 stopped updating.
# mrtg /etc/mrtg.cfg
WARNING: Can not determine ifNumber for [EMAIL PROTECTED]: ref: 'Descr'

Approximately at this time I had switched the modem off to make a phone
call, then switched the modem back on to re-establish the link (ppp persist
option). I had performed an upgrade sometime yesterday afternoon. Prior
to that upgrade there were no problems taking down ppp0 temporarily.
Also, when I re-run cfgmaker with my previous options, it generates a
'ppp0' entry which matches the one in mrtg.cfg (except for being
commented-out that is).

due to its long standing and many new versions of mrtg in unstable,
I'm closing this bug. If you please, try to update to latest version
and replicate this bug.
