Package: mrtg
Version: 2.5.1-1
The debianization of mrtg is incomplete:
1. No /etc/mrtg.cfg is provided although an example file exists in
/usr/doc/mrtg.
2. The example file has the wrong WorkDir path. After I fixed that the
example file was usable as /etc/mrtg.cfg
3. The package should ask on initial installation for a community string and
for a couple of hostnames and then generate a working /etc/mrtg.cfg by
running cfgmaker on the provided list of ips.
4. The package should generate the necessary crontab entries (etc/cron.d or
whatever) and start generating pages.
5. The package needs to provide some index.html in /var/www/mrtg. Possibly
write a small perl script to run over /etc/mrtg.conf to generate a nice
index to all interfaces monitored.
Wishlist:
mrtg should use /etc/mrtg.cfg by default so you do not have to specify it on
the commandline.

All the requested customization have been implemented during the
years, hence I'm closing this bug.
Thanks for the report.
