Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.0.16-1
Severity: normal

alsa-utils recommends udev, but on the minority of systems that don't
use udev, it can certianly work fine w/o it, and having udev be pulled
onto such a system by a recommends can cause other breakage.

The recommends seems to serve no purpose on the majority of systems,
since they already have udev installed.

So I think this recommendation should be dropped.
