Package: reportbug
Version: 3.39
Severity: wishlist

Because the doesn't seem to be any other simple way to get dependency
info for a package in Debian, reportbug should add an option to do so
without actually going through the motions of reporting a bug.
Here's a python one-liner to do so:
PYTHONPATH=/usr/share/reportbug python -c 'import reportbug; \
print reportbug.get_dependency_info("pidgin",
reportbug.get_package_status("pidgin")[2]), \
 reportbug.get_dependency_info("pidgin",
reportbug.get_package_status("pidgin")[3], "recommends")'
