Moving a card to Ad-Hoc mode should be done directly by  iwconfig but 
normal change by iwconfig interface mode Ad-Hoc return an error :
"Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
    SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument"

but if i reload the moudle with the parameter "modprobe ath_pci 
autocreate=adhoc" .
