I can't replicate this problem using xzgv 0.9, which completely gutted
and replaced the back-end image handling in order to support Gtk2,
removing the old dependence on imlib. It is this highly likely the
problem was in the imlib code, and is no longer relevant to the newer
versions of xzgv.
I tried downloading both the current version of moinmoin-common, as well
as downloading the 1.5.3 version of moinmoin from SourceForge, and xzgv
0.9+svn40-1 does not crash when displaying "xzgv checkmark.png idea.png"
and advancing past checkmark.png.
