Package: base-files
Version: 3.1.2-0.0.0.2.pure64
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

The base-files package appears insufficiently recent. Ive got dependency
problems against the libc6 package because libc6 is more recent than the
base-file packages allows. The libc6 package cannot be upgraded without
removing other required packages.

This makes some 75 packages being hold back from being upgraded and has
resulted in the remove of the amanda packages which I need to run the daily
backups ...

I'm sorry, but this is not the base-files package I maintain.
Talk to the amd64 porters who had to modify the base-files package
for the amd64 port, this is not my problem.
